The Public Debate Club
The Public Debate Club is an open forum that meets once a month to hold an informed discussion of issues on the public agenda. The goal of the club is to improve the quality of public discourse by adhering to the rules of speech and objective and informed criticism.
The club meets twice a month on Wednesdays, in the evening. After gathering, registration and refreshments, there will be 'warm-up exercises' (for those who have no experience speaking in front of an audience), in which each participant will have to introduce themselves, and those who do not participate in the debate will be able to give a regular speech or deliver a presentation. After that, there will be a briefing in which the 'rules of the game' of the debate will be presented: the order of the speakers, the length of the speeches, rules that are allowed and forbidden in terms of interruptions, etc.
After that, we will draw up the composition of the groups (participants who wish can register as a group in advance) and the positions that each group will represent, we will announce the topic and the debate will begin (for a full explanation of Debate rules)
At the end of the debate, a detailed judging will be given and the winners will be announced and will receive a special certificate.
The debate sessions are held on Wednesdays every two weeks at 19:00
Upcoming dates: January 20, February 3, February 17
