A special practical course for rabbis, teachers, lecturers and any religious person who wants to develop in his Torah performance, and in speaking in front of an audience. The course takes place in Ko'il in Jerusalem, and participants from abroad are invited.
In the course we will learn and practice techniques for exhortation and speech in a variety of situations: a family Torah discussion, a sermon in a synagogue, a Torah lesson, and even a religious event in a secular audience (for example, a toast for a holiday at work).
-
- How to excite an audience and ensure that the entire audience is fully attentive
- How to ensure that the message you wanted to convey will get through
- How to prepare the sermon easily and quickly without working on it for hours
- How to overcome excitement and anxiety in front of an audience
Course structure
The course consists of six sessions: three with Guy Yariv, and three with Rabbi Shai, with each session including technique-practice-feedback.
Each unit begins with an explanation of a practical technique (eg how to open your things, how to deal with questions and interruptions, etc.). Each participant then practices their sermon (everyone. No excuses or evasions), then each participant receives detailed personal feedback with tips for improvement.
In the next unit we will again learn technique-practice-feedback, only in each sermon you practice not only the technique learned, but all the techniques from the beginning of the course.
In the last lesson we will leave the public speaking school and move to a synagogue in Jerusalem, where guests will sing, and we will experience the most real performance there is.
