Makeup tips for a TV appearance - for women

There is a reason why men also apply make-up for a TV appearance, and that women also let a make-up artist apply their make-up. It is important to understand that makeup for television has two significant considerations that differ from everyday makeup for work or an important meeting, or from makeup for events.

It is precisely for these reasons that one must know how to diagnose and understand facial features, make facial corrections with make-up, know how to sculpt the face correctly. Make-up, like clothing, should match the character of the woman, the contemporary fashion and the nature of the role. Excessive and too flashy makeup may "steal the show" and the public who sees the woman with makeup can concentrate on the makeup instead of the woman (it's also worth taking a look at the article on the subject Adjusting clothes for a performance in front of an audience).
Grooming for those who appear a lot on TV
Correct make-up helps to eliminate defects (which will stand out doubly in the spotlight), but of course it is better to avoid the defects in the first place. Even the best makeup in the world will not be a substitute for healthy facial skin. The difference between a smart interviewee and a smart one is that the smart one takes the make-up tips, and the smart one also takes the grooming tips.
Regular life habits
- Sunbathing should be avoided.
- Use a high-quality moisturizer that contains sunscreens and anti-free radicals.
- Make sure to drink plenty of water and often.
- Avoiding caffeine, smoking and alcohol.
- Making sure to sleep at least 8 hours a night.
- Regular visit to the beautician.
What to do in the days before the interview
- The day before the interview to visit a beautician to remove eyebrows and mustache and for facial treatment. Do not arrive at the last minute or on the way to the studio because sometimes the treatment causes redness that takes several hours to go away. On the other hand, not more than two days before because the effect has expired.
- sleep well
- Don't eat heavily in the hours before so as not to bloat and/or feel heavy, and on the other hand, don't diet like Sah and arrive at the studio starving, because you see it.
- Make sure to have clothes ironed and prepared in advance.
Makeup for a TV appearance
Step 1 - Preparing the face for makeup:
Before starting the make-up, you should clean your face with face milk and face water and apply a high-quality moisturizer.
Step B - make-up
It is important to choose the right make-up. As you know, there are several types:
- The liquid: its texture is thinner, it provides a reasonable level of coverage, it is recommended for young women, or those with wrinkles and lines because it does not create a heavy appearance on the skin.
- The cream: usually comes in a jar and looks thick like a moisturizer, suitable for mature women or women with very dry skin. It has good coverage.
- The solid: this make-up provides a heavier coverage, recommended for skin owners who need heavy coverage (pigmentation, wounds and copperosis).
The most recommended mix-up for shooting TV (ie in the studio) or video (ie anywhere else) is the fat-free liquid mix-up that contains silicone. It has excellent coverage, it creates a matte look for the skin (not greasy and not shiny) that penetrates well. The silicone causes the pores to shrink and creates a sculpted appearance for the face and smoothes the appearance of the skin. It is recommended to apply it evenly with a damp sponge and it can last up to 24 hours. In general (outside the TV studio) liquid make-up on a fat-free base that contains silicone is especially suitable for those with oily skin.
Adjusting the make-up color:
There are two main undertone colors: yellow and pink. Each such undertone has a range of shades from light to dark and it is very important to match the right color to the skin tone. The test for a correct choice is that correct application and correct shade matching of the make-up to the skin will create a smooth and uniform appearance to the facial skin. Girls who don't often wear make-up should consult a friend who understands or a professional beautician.
Step three - the makeup
Until now we have created a "smooth page" look which is the most important basis for good and flattering makeup.
Basically, the preferred look for a TV appearance for anyone who is not trying to present themselves as fashionable (social activist, business woman, politician, etc.) is subtle makeup that allows viewers to concentrate on the speaker and her messages. For those who want to convey a more fashionable message as part of their occupation (for example a singer, publicist or spa manager) it is important to emphasize the makeup and make it stand out more.
Eyes:
For a "clean" look, we will give up colors (shadows) and work on emphasizing the eye so that it looks as natural and clean as possible. For a more make-up look, we will use eyeshadows and adjust the colors to what suits us best.
The make-up style will be adapted to the shape of the eye and the structure of the face (big eye, small eye, eyes close to far, etc.)
Defining the eye: a defined eye gets a much more prominent and defined look.
Mascara: Never give up on mascara, it does most of the work and "opens" the eye.
Shaped eyebrows:
Eyebrows have a great influence on the appearance of the face and its expression and they create a kind of "frame" for the eyes. The eyebrows must be arranged in advance and adjusted to the shape of the face.
The eyebrows can be made up with an eyebrow pencil in the appropriate color or with an appropriate eye shadow, on this occasion fill in "bald spots" in the eyebrow if there are strengtheners and extensions - all if necessary.
If you have unruly eyebrow hair, it is recommended to use transparent mascara and brush the eyebrow in the desired direction.
Cheekbones:
To shape the cheek and make it stand out, you can use a small blush brush and a very little color (pink or brown) to emphasize the "apple of the cheek" and below and on the cheekbone to go in a flutter.
lips:
They must be nurtured. There is no worse sight than pale lips with signs of dryness, it shows neglect. That's why you don't have to put on liner and lipstick, but it is desirable that the liner and lipstick be the same shade and if we decided to emphasize the eyes, the lips should be a calm and quiet shade.
It is also possible to use lip gloss instead of lipstick, in a shade most similar to the natural shade (but not everyone has it photographed well).
